The Use Default Route Only option can change the routing behavior of the LoadMaster when forwarding packets to a client or Real Server.
Note 1
This option only takes effect when there is a Virtual Service (VS) gateway set.
Normal routing precedence would be:
- Manual (or static) routes defined on the System Configuration > Network Setup > Additional Routes page.
- Local route (LoadMaster has an interface on the same subnet as the destination client/server).
- Virtual Service gateway (if set and the destination is not local to the LoadMaster).
- Global default gateway.

The order above does not take in to account other variables. Refer to the flowchart in Appendix C - Routing Precedence or full table in Appendix A - Understanding Source IP Address Visibility on the Real Server for further details.
