Standard Installation

To install WS_FTP Professional:

  1. Log in to Microsoft Windows as Administrator or using a comparable account with full administrative privileges to the computer.
  2. Right-click the downloaded WS_FTP Professional installation file to run the installation as an Administrator.
  3. Read the Welcome screen and End User License Agreement to proceed. To proceed, click Accept.
  4. To install WS_FTP Professional to the default location, C:\Program Files (x86)\Progress\WS_FTP Professional, click Next. To install to a different folder, click Browse and select another folder.
  5. To complete the installation, click Finish.

License activation

Activate your license using one of the following methods.

  • When you get your WS_FTP Professional product package from your Progress Community page, the activation code is embedded in the download file and is automatically applied during installation
  • If you downloaded the installation application from another source, it will ask for your license activation key. Enter your activation key and click Activate to start the license activation process.
  • Activate using a WS_FTP Professional license file: Locate and select the Manage WS_FTP Professional License license file on your system and click Next.

    For Windows 8.1, click Win+C on your keyboard to open the Charm bar, select Search, and then type Manage WS_FTP Professional License to locate and select it.

    For Windows 8.1, click Win on your keyboard and type Manage WS_FTP Professional License in the search box to locate and select it.

  • If you are not connected to the internet, you can use the offline activation mode: On the Activation screen clear the Use active Internet connection checkbox. Click Activate and follow the instructions on-screen to activate the offline activation file.
