The upgrade process itself consists of the following steps which are expanded in the following sections:

  1. Connect to the machine being upgraded as an administrator (e.g. via SSH).

  2. Backup the existing installation.

  3. Document your current configuration.

  4. Stop your Semaphore services.

  5. Upgrade your Semaphore installation.

  6. Configure the upgraded Semaphore installation (Any installation-specific publisher configuration might require assistance. See Configure the upgraded Semaphore software).

  7. Restart your Semaphore services.
