Custom Help

SETTINGS > Appearance > Display: Custom Help

Note: The control for this setting displays for Org Admins after its fields are initialized with a default by the SysAdmin. (The control for editing the link will be visible to regular (org-level) admins only after this condition is met).

In addition to the Online Manual and Tech Support links available to users, SysAdmins can provide a URL and name value for the Custom Help link. After completing the URL and name fields, the results are a default link that will be displayed for all organizations on the Help section of the Technical Support page. After this link is initialized by a SysAdmin user, all Org Admin users can use this default for their org or they can provide a new value specific to the needs of their MOVEit Transfer organization.

If a user clicks the custom help link, the page will be launched in a separate window.

SysAdmin: If a SysAdmin edits these fields, the Custom Help Link option will be available for organizations. Additionally, organization admins, commonly referred to as "Org Admins" will see the setting from their WebUI view and be able to add a specific or "custom" link for their MOVEit Transfer organization.

Org Admins: Organization admins will be able to access and edit this field for their particular organization if it was initialized by the SysAdmin.

The Custom Help Link and Custom Help Name fields support intra-string language tags.

Display Profiles

SETTINGS > Appearance > Display: Display Profiles

Display profiles allow the administrator of an organization to fine-tune the look and feel of the MOVEit Transfer web interface for different classes of users. The admin first creates a display profile, selecting the sections to show and the options to provide. That profile can then be assigned to one or more of the five user classes available: Ad Hoc Transfer Only, Guest/Anonymous User, Power User, Temporary User and User. For more information about creating and assigning display profiles, see the topic titled Display Profiles Features and Advantages.

Max List Counts

SETTINGS > Appearance > Display: Max List Counts

The more users or folders there are on a MOVEit Transfer system, the longer it will take both MOVEit Transfer and the client web browser to render pages that contain lists of those users or folders. For this reason, the Max List Counts option is provided, which causes search boxes to replace drop-down selection menus when the number of users or folders in the drop-down would exceed the specified values. The search boxes allow the user to enter a search term, and pick from a selection of users or folders that match the search term. While the process of selecting a user or folder does become slightly more complicated, the loading times for the associated MOVEit Transfer web pages is greatly reduced, allowing more users to use the system simultaneously.

Note: max list values are applied only to the number of users or folders that would be in a given list, not to the total number of users or folders on the system. So, if a given user has only two other users in her address book, she will see both those users in a drop-down menu when composing a secure message, even if there are thousands of other users on the system.

When the number of users or folders is near the limit (above or below) a special configuration hint will be displayed on Admin's home page to remind them that this setting will soon or has just caused a change to the user interface.
