When this workaround is set, the ODBC driver mimics SQL Server behavior for MBCS characters stored in a SQL_CHAR column that pads blanks until the columnwidth byte-limit is reached. The client can use the Microsoft 932, or Japanese Shift-JIS, client locale.

Valid values

An integer from 1 to the columnwidth byte-limit.
