- Replace Device. Select this option if you intend to replace the device with the same (or similar) device and keep the same IP address. When a device is replaced, the following data is removed and re-evaluated: display name, SNMP OID, operating system, brand, role, subroles, role-based attributes, custom IP address(es), inventory data, and MAC address. However, reporting data is retained.
- Reset Device. Select this option if you intend to completely reset the device. When a device is reset, all monitoring and reporting data is deleted. Additionally, all monitors and attributes are removed and re-evaluated. Please note, when a reset is initiated, the three settings described below are automatically enabled.
- Update Interface & SNMP Table Monitor Names & Comments. If selected during a basic or advanced rescan, this option will update monitor names and comments from Active Interface or SNMP Table Monitors if they have changed on the device since the last scan.
- Enable/Disable Interface and SNMP Table Monitors. By default, WhatsUp Gold will only enable Interface Monitors on a device that are operationally Up during a scan of the device. If an interface is operationally Down, then a monitor will be added, but disabled. If an interface that was operationally down during the initial discovery is now up, by running a basic or advanced rescan with this option selected, the monitor will get enabled.
- Reset Attributes. Enabling this option will cause any attributes assigned to the device to be removed and re-evaluated.
