Limit scan and exclude devices from the scope
Use the controls provided as needed to limit the scope of the discovery scan:
Exclusions
- Exclude hidden devices. Select this checkbox to exclude the previously-discovered devices in the hidden device list from the scan.
- IPs in the global exclusion list. Select this checkbox to have discovery ignore any IP addresses or IP ranges added to this list.
- Single device, multiple devices, IP ranges, or subnets. Select this checkbox and enter identifying information to exclude from the starting set. You can enter any combination of single IP addresses, IP address ranges, subnet ranges, and/or host/DNS names.
Limits
- Maximum number of devices. Select this checkbox to set the maximum number of devices this scan attempts to discover.
- Maximum number of IP addresses to try. Select this checkbox to set the number of IP addresses this scan attempts to discover.
- Limit to Private Networks. Select this checkbox to limit your scan to industry standard private networks. See the applicable information pop-up within the Discovery Scan dialog for detailed information.
- Limit to monitored subnets. Select this checkbox to limit your scan to 'Licensed/Monitored' subnets. See the applicable information pop-up within the Discovery Scan dialog for detailed information.
- Single device, multiple devices, IP ranges, or subnets. Select this checkbox and enter identifying information to limit the scan to specific device(s), IP ranges, and/or subnets. You can enter any combination of single IP addresses, IP address ranges, subnet ranges, and/or host/DNS names.
