What's new
- FPI 13.0.0 is compatible with Flowmon version 13.0.3 or higher.
Note:
FPI 13.0.x is not compatible with FPI Probe version 12.3.x. FPI Probe must be updated to version 13.0.0 or higher.
- The FPI Settings section is no longer available in the Configuration Center and is now managed through the FPI module.
- Recordings, including existing ones, are automatically rotated when the quota is exceeded, meaning the oldest recordings are deleted to make space for new ones. You can manually exclude individual recordings from rotation.
- The global FPI quota has been removed. You can now configure quotas only for individual recording groups.
- The Adaptive Buffer filters configuration for the FPI Probe is now available in the Monitoring Ports Filters tab, and a single filter can be reused for multiple monitoring ports.
- FPI and FPI Probe communication is secured with TLS.
- The REST API has been significantly changed and is not compatible with version 12.x. Refer to the REST API documentation for more information.
- Users must have a role with FPI module access to use the FPI REST API.
Fixed defects
| Ticket Number | Issue Topic | Issue Details | Resolution Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01711242 | Configuration | FPI changed the system time settings in a way that could make the device use the wrong time source. These changes were not undone when FPI was uninstalled. | FPI no longer modifies ntp.conf. The unnecessary NTP configuration has been removed. |
| 01600337 | Firewall | FPI Collector opened unnecessary ports 7000-7999 instead of only the required ports (7001, 7002, 7998) occasionally causing high CPU load on HW probes. | FPI now only opens the required ports and automatically adjusts firewall configuration when ports are changed. |
Known issues
- NTP traffic analysis can report a false positive event with incorrect server time settings. This issue will be resolved in an upcoming bug fix release.
- Changes in timezone settings can cause failures when creating future packet captures. The workaround is to restart the FPI module after changing the timezone.
