Overview
System Administrators need to keep track of the activities allowed to run on the systems they govern. Applications meet business requirements in the context of a system that must also meet enterprise standards. The policies and services designed for the External Security Administration Manager (ESAM) aim to provide governance over application runtime practices in ways that meet both corporate and security requirements.
ESAM is an OpenEdge security control in OpenEdge 12.6 and later releases, which operates externally, independent of an OpenEdge installation. However, it can manage governance and security for all OpenEdge 12.6 and later releases and for applications running on those releases on a given system, Virtual Machine (VM), or container.
