It is possible to download access-list rules from Progress Kemp to block access from IP addresses that are on the access-list. An allow list can be manually specified that overrides the access-list. These rules can be set to automatically download and install or they can be manually downloaded and installed.

Note: This is a subscription-based feature. If you cannot see these options, or if any fields are grayed out, please contact Progress Kemp to upgrade your subscription.

To configure the IP access-list settings, follow the steps below:

  1. In the main menu of the LoadMaster WUI, go to Global Balancing > IP Access List Settings.

  2. Either enable or disable the Enable Automated GEO IP Access List Data Updates check box.
  3. In the Last Updated section, you can manually download the rule updates now. You can also view changes, that is, what are the differences between the latest downloaded rules and the previously downloaded rules.
Note: After downloading the rule updates, they must be installed to become active. If the rules are more than 7 days old, a message appears.
  4. Either enable or disable the Enable Automated Installs check box. When enabled, you can specify what time to install the updates at.
Note: When the Enable Auto-Save option (under System Configuration > Miscellaneous Options > WUI Settings) is enabled and you select a new hour value, the value gets auto-updated.

When the Enable Auto-Save option is disabled, you must click Set Install Time after selecting a new hour value to update the installation time. If the hour value in the drop-down list has not been changed from its previous value and you click Set Install Time, the following error message displays:

"Value has not been changed. If auto-save is disabled, select a new value and press the set button again."

  5. You can Manually Install the GEO IP access-list data by clicking Install Now.
Note: If the GEO access-list data is not updated for more than 7 days, a message appears.
  6. View the GEO IP access-list data file by clicking View. This displays a full list of the blocked IP addresses.
  7. Addresses and networks can be added to the allow list by entering them into the Address/Network text box and clicking Add. The allow list overrides the access-list.
