Changes for 6.0.0 Release
- Driver Enhancements
- The driver now includes the Progress DataDirect Oracle Service Cloud
Configuration Manager for quick configuration and testing of your driver
in a web browser. The tool allows you to:
- Generate and edit connection URLs
- Test connect your connection URLs
- Execute SQL commands for testing
- The driver JAR file has been renamed from
rightnow.jartooracleservicecloud.jar. - The driver has been enhanced to support multiple simultaneous sessions. The number of active sessions must not exceed the number permitted by your Oracle Service Cloud account and can be limited using the WSPoolSize connection property.
- The Refresh Map SQL extension has been added. Refresh Map discovers native objects that have been added to the native data store since the connection was established or since the last refresh and maps them into the relational view of native data. It also incorporates any configuration changes made to the relational view by reloading the schema map and associated files. See Refresh Map (EXT) for details.
- Interactive SQL for JDBC (JDBCISQL) is now installed with the product. JDBCISQL is a command-line interface that supports connecting your driver to a data source, executing SQL statements and retrieving results in a terminal. This tool provides a method to quickly test your drivers in an environment that does not support GUIs.
- The following new connection properties have been added to the driver:
- The driver now includes the Progress DataDirect Oracle Service Cloud
Configuration Manager for quick configuration and testing of your driver
in a web browser. The tool allows you to:
- Changed Behavior
- The product package no longer includes a readme file. Refer to the Release Notes for latest updates on the driver.
- The data source class
com.ddtek.jdbcx.oracleservicecloud.OracleServiceCloudDataSource40has been removed. Usecom.ddtek.jdbcx.oracleservicecloud.OracleServiceCloudDataSourcefor data source connections. This class now supports all JDBC specifications. See Driver and DataSource classes for details. - The driver's SQL engine has been upgraded in this release. As a result, there are changes in how some SQL queries are processed. See Supported SQL Statements and Extensions for details.
- The InterfaceName property, which was deprecated in version 5.1, has been removed.
- The DatabaseName property has been removed. Use the SchemaMap property to specify the fully qualified path to the configuration file where the Oracle Service Cloud data model mapping is stored.
- The CreateDB and RefreshSchema properties have been removed. Use the CreateMap property to specify whether the driver creates a new schema map when establishing a connection.
- The RefreshDirtyCache property has been removed. The driver now refreshes cached objects during every fetch operation to ensure that changes to tables and rows are reflected immediately.
- The
setlLoginHostAPI inDataSourcehas been replaced withsetLoginHost. - The default value of the StmtCallLimit connection
property has been changed to
100. By default, the driver can make up to 100 Web service calls when executing a single SQL statement or metadata query. - The Configuration Option connection property has been deprecated. The configuration options formally set using ConfigOptions property are now independent connection properties. This inlcudes:
- The driver has been updated to add AES-256 encryption with a 32-byte key for in-memory credential protection. As a result, the driver is no longer compatible with Java 8 versions earlier than Update 161 (8u161).
