Alert Center Item Details enables you to acknowledge, resolve, and annotate alert events observed by WhatsUp Gold.

Item Details

  • Item. The display name of the item that triggered the alert.
  • Created by. The threshold the device breached.
  • Aspect. The aspect of device that is out of threshold.
  • Value. The actual value observed by Alert Center.
  • Current state. The current state of device threshold.
  • Notification progress. The most recent notification sent per the notification schedule.
  • Created on: The date and time the threshold was breached.
  • Last updated. The date and time the Alert Center item was most recently updated.

Update Item(s)

First, choose either Acknowledge or Resolve. Please note, acknowledged items are known, however notifications are still sent and appear in applicable reports. Resolved items have been addressed, notifications cease, and these items are no longer reported.

Next, select one of the following options as it relates to acknowledging/resolving the item in question.

  • Apply to this item. Simplest case. Apply only to the current item.
  • Apply to any items created at the same time as this item. Apply to alerts triggered during the same poll.
  • Apply to any items older than ___ minutes/hours/days. Update items created prior to the specified time period. Useful for cascading alerts such as attempting to ping a devices on the far side of a failed switch, gateway, or router.
  • Apply to all items in this threshold. Apply to any items with the current threshold type.

Update comments

Add optional notes to characterize the acknowledgment/resolution you applied to the alert.

Click Save.
