There are a number of pre-requisites to installation of Semaphore for Solr:

  1. A full Semaphore software installation - If using a local installation of Semaphore, see the Semaphore Installation Guide for Linux or Semaphore Installation Guide on Windows for information on how to install and configure the product. If using Semaphore Cloud then a Basic API interface must be available in your tenancy and the user configured to use Semaphore Solr must be assigned the “BasicApiUser” role.
  2. A published Semaphore model - A model must be published from within Semaphore to both Semantic Enhancement Server and Classification Server components that can be used for, at least, initial installation/configuration of Semaphore for Solr.
  3. Solr installed and appropriately configured - Semaphore supports Apache SoLR 3.x (in Semaphore 4.0.45 and earlier), 4.x, 5.x, 6.x, and 7.4 (likely 7.x also)
  4. Existing process for populating Solr with search data
  5. Appropriate Semaphore for Solr distribution - Download the appropriate production distribution files from the Smartlogic Customer Portal:
    • Apache Solr 3.x - SOLR-Integration-r<Revision>-3.x.zip
    • Apache Solr 4.x - SOLR-Integration-r<Revision>-4.x.zip
    • Apache Solr 5.x - SOLR-Integration-r<revision>-4.x.zip (the 4.x Semaphore for Solr distribution supports both 4.x and 5.x)
    • Apache Solr 6.x - SOLR-Integration-r<Revision>-6.x.zip (the 6.x Semaphore for Solr distribution supports both 6.x and, at least, Solr 7.4 if not 7.x)
