Overview
Use Garland Prisms and Flowmon together to gain insights into your network traffic. This solution combines:
- Garland Prisms for traffic collection
- Flowmon modules for advanced analysis:
- Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics (NPMD)
- Network behavior analysis
- Performance monitoring
- Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) detection
- On-demand packet capture
When you install Garland Prisms agents on your virtual instances, they route traffic copies to Flowmon's monitoring interfaces for processing.
Prerequisites
You must have:
- A running instance of Flowmon (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- A number of running client instances where Garland Prisms agents can be installed.
Deployment

Flowmon Configuration
To set up your Flowmon instance:
- Go to the Flowmon Configuration Center of your Flowmon instance.
- Select the Monitoring Ports panel.
- Under Global settings > Advanced settings, enable VxLAN decapsulation on port 4789.
- Click Save.
