You can use the Pro2 installation program to install, upgrade, and uninstall Pro2 on Windows platforms. During the Pro2 installation procedure, you can configure OpenEdge-to-SQL connectivity

System requirements
  • Operating system: 64-bit platform.
    Note: Windows 64-bit and a minimum 8 BG of memory are required if you use SQL Server Management Studio or Oracle Server with Pro2.
  • OpenEdge version 8.3 or later. Your version of OpenEdge must support database replication with Pro2.
  • PAS for OpenEdge development version.
  • PAS for OpenEdge production version.

To install Pro2:

  1. Close all applications before beginning the installation.
  2. Run the Pro2.exe file from the installation medium.
  3. In the Pro2 installation wizard, click Next to Choose the Install Folder.


  4. Specify the path or click Choose to browse and select where you want to install Pro2.

    To select the default installation directory C:\Progress\Pro2, click Restore Default.



  5. In the Choose OpenEdge window, specify the path, or select Choose to browse and set the OpenEdge home directory.

    To select the default directory C:\Progress\OpenEdge, click Restore Default.



  6. Click Next to view the Choose Shortcut Folder window.
  7. On the Choose Shortcut Folder window, choose where you want to create a shortcut for Pro2.


    Note: Select the Create Icons for All Users option only if In a new Program Group, In the Start Menu, or On the Desktop is selected.
  8. Click Next and review the options you chose for this installation in the Pre-Installation Summary page.


  9. Click Install to continue with the installation process.


  10. Click Done to finish the installation process.
