This section introduces the fundamental concepts of developing Progress OpenEdge ABL services. It describes the role of a Service Developer in the context of the OpenEdge Application Architecture. It includes a brief overview of application servers, web applications, and services, and relates these components to ABL applications deployed on Progress Application Server for OpenEdge (PAS for OpenEdge).
