The following new features and improvements were added to MOVEit Transfer.

MOVEit Add-in for Microsoft Outlook

The new MOVEit Add-in for Microsoft Outlook makes it easy for users to send and receive MOVEit Ad-Hoc messages without leaving Outlook. Because it is built on Microsoft's latest add-in architecture, the new add-in provides simplified deployment and is available to Outlook users on Windows and Mac as well as Outlook on the web.

Key features

The new add-in provides users with the following features::

  • Send files and messages as Ad Hoc Transfer secure packages when composing an Outlook message.
  • View the "read status" of packages from your Outlook Sent folder.
  • Recall a package (from your Outlook Sent folder).
  • View MOVEit Transfer secure packages from your Outlook Inbox.
  • Download files contained in a secure package from your Outlook Inbox.
  • Avoid repeated sign-on from Outlook by using the "Remember me" option.
  • Single sign-on for ease of provisioning and authenticating Ad Hoc Transfer users from within Outlook.
  • Send very large files (no impact by Outlook attachment size limits).
  • Multi-factor authentication.

Ease of deployment

For system administrators using Microsoft 365, the new add-in can be easily deployed to all or a subset of users using your Microsoft 365 Administration console. Deployment can also be handled centrally for Exchange online users by way of the Exchange Online Administration Console.

The MOVEit Crypto library has been recertified by the NIST Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP).

SQL Server Always On compatibility

You can use SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups for high-availability and disaster recovery of your MFT database. For more information, see the SQL Always On KB article on the Progress Community site.

Windows Server 2022 support

MOVEit Transfer supports deployment to the Windows Server 2022 operating system.

Broader AV/DLP ICAP support

You can now choose from a broader range of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) or Anti-Virus (AV) scan engines that support ICAP. You are no longer limited to specific vendors when configuring your MOVEit Transfer server for content scanning.

You also have more granular control for configuring ICAP settings. Existing configurations are automatically updated to reflect the new configuration options.

Externalized parameters include:

  • Server Type expects either DLP, AV, or DLP and AV value.
  • New Chunk Size configuration parameter.
  • New Do Preview configuration setting.

SHA2 host key algorithm support

MOVEit Transfer SFTP service now supports RSA-SHA-2 256 and RSA SHA-2 512 host key algorithms.

Additionally, the following algorithms were removed:

  • diffie-hellman-group1-sha1 (under SSH Kex Algorithms)

  • arcfour (under SSH Ciphers)

ActiveX Wizard deprecated

(This change was made in conjunction with end of support for Internet Explorer by Microsoft.) Administrator controls for the ActiveX legacy upload/download client were removed in favor of the WebUI built-in upload/download capability and the other clients (mobile, desktop, and so on).
