If you have File Sharing permissions, you can create a Shareable Link to a file. Shareable Links do not require user sign-on for file download actions. Instead, they are effective for a specific window of time (let's say, 30 days) or download frequency (let's say five downloads). You determine the time window or available download count.
Note: Like the control for Folder Sharing, the File Sharing permission might not be present for folders on sites with strict security settings. Check with your organization administrator.

Who Can Create Shareable Links?

In order to create Shareable Links, you must first have been granted File Sharing permissions for a folder.

To check if you can share files:
  1. Open a folder or subfolder in your user account's home.
  2. Click on the Sharing and Settings button.

The Edit Folder Access view displays.

Figure 2. New File Sharing Permission (Regular User shown with permission)

Now, when you navigate to a folder where you have permission to create download links, you will see the Shareable Link value column and the link button (). For example:

How to Configure Shareable Link Capability for a User/Folder

You need to have File Sharing permissions to configure this capability and share it with other users. For more information, see the topic titled Delegate File Sharing (Public Links).

Note: If folder sharing is not enabled as part of your user permissions, or if it is turned off as a site-wide policy, you can also request Virtual folder access from your MOVEit Transfer administrator. Virtual folders are shared folders created and controlled by administrators.
