Packages are similar to email messages. A package contains a note and optionally one or more file attachments.

To view your packages (PACKAGES menu)

  1. Click on the PACKAGES selection in the side menu.
  2. Click on InBox or Sent to view received or sent packages.

New Package Notifications

You might receive an email notification triggered when you (or a mailbox that is shared with you) receive a new package.

To react to a New Package Notification, you can:

  1. Either click (or copy into your browser) the link provided in the email notification.
  2. Sign on to MOVEit with your username and password (registered users) or with the credentials provided by email to view the package and download any attached files.
  3. (If Reply action is enabled for your account). You can also reply to a package and send additional attachments.

    Attachments will be uploaded to the file transfer server.

    Note: The organization administrator sets options that determine who can send and receive packages, enforces user- and package-level quotas, and controls package expiration and download limits.

Package Contents

The package header contains information such as the Recipient(s), the Sender, the Subject, and the current Mailbox. For packages that you sent, the header contains the package's Read Status and a Recall option.

Package Actions

Buttons and links display actions that can be performed on the current package. The actions available on your package depend on how your organization is set up.

Note: If you have a limited, "guest user" account, you might not be allowed to forward or reply to messages. These actions depend on how you organization sets up your user account.
  • Delete - Delete the package.
  • Reply - Start composing a new package to the sender of the current package. The body of the current package will be retained and each line marked with the ">" character.
  • Reply All - Start composing a new package to the sender of the current package, as well as the recipients of the current package. As with Reply, the body of the current package will be retained and each line marked with the ">" character.
  • Forward - Start composing a new package with no recipient. As with Reply and Reply All, the body of the current package will be retained and each line marked with the ">" character. Unlike Reply and Reply All, any attachments in the current package will be copied to the new package.
  • Move/Restore - In all mailboxes except Trash, this will be "Move". In Trash, it will be "Restore". They both function the same way, allowing the user to select a mailbox to move the current package to.
  • View Send Receipt - View the Send Receipt, which shows the subject, sent date and time, recipients, any attached files, and any options, such as expiration and quota, set for this package.
  • View Print Friendly - View the package in a printer friendly format. (Navigation is suppressed and the package is forced into a 660 pixel-wide page.)

You Can Validate File Integrity Directly After Download or from Recent Downloads

When you download a file, a Validate Files window opens. After the file finishes downloading, optionally click Check. Locate and select the downloaded file. A green checkmark indicates that the integrity check succeeded. A red "X" indicates a failed integrity check.

File Details

Click an attachment name to view information about the file. File data might include:

  • The user who uploaded it
  • The date/time of upload
  • The IP address from which it was uploaded
  • The type of wizard that was used (if any)
  • The file size
  • The number of times it has been downloaded
  • The download integrity verification status
  • A list of all actions related to the file, the user who performed the action, and the date/time of the action

Content Scanning

If Content Scanning is enabled, a note might identify whether the file was scanned for viruses and/or for data loss prevention (DLP). With DLP, file names and the Notes field (associated with an upload) are also scanned for data policy violations.

Downloading Attachments

To download each file attachment, either:

  • Click Download, or..
  • Click Download All for a zipped file.
