The tables in this section describe each field available on the External Security configuration page.

External Security Name |
The name used to identify this external security object. This is the name that you provide when you configure your app server for external security. Include the external agent in the name. |
Description |
(Optional) The description of this external security object. |
Authentication |
The authentication protocol to use. This field identifies how the credentials are meant to be validated. |
Cache Timeout |
The login cache timeout, in seconds. When the timeout period is exceeded, MarkLogic Server re-authenticates the user with the external agent.
Note:
Clear the cache by calling either sec.externalSecurityClearCache() or
sec:external-security-clear-cache().
