MarkLogic Operator supports Istio service mesh deployments. The supported modes depend on your Operator version:

  • Version 1.2.0 and later: Both Istio Sidecar mode and Istio Ambient mode are supported.
  • Versions prior to 1.2.0: Only Istio Sidecar mode is supported.

Istio Ambient mode allows MarkLogic to run in an environment that provides enhanced security and observability without the overhead of injecting sidecar proxies into your application pods.
