Some ODBC applications display a logon dialog box when you are connecting to a data source.

The Logon to Progress OpenEdge dialog box

In the dialog box, provide the following information:

  1. In the Host Name field, ype the name or the IP address of the server to which you want to connect.
  2. In the Port Number field, type the port number of your server listener. For example, 20931.
  3. In the Databse Name field, type the name of the database to which you want to connect by default.
  4. In the User ID field, type the user name for your Progress OpenEdge server.
  5. In the Password field, type the password for your Progress OpenEdge server.
  6. Click OK to complete the logon.
