The Define tab of the ODBC dBASE Driver Setup dialog box allows you to
define the attributes of index files. With the exception of Clipper, the family of databases
that includes dBASE and FoxPro uses a multiple index file associated with a particular table
(database file). This index file has a .MDX or .CDX extension and is automatically
maintained by the driver. Tags within this index can be marked as unique.
Clipper uses single index files that are not automatically associated with a particular table. You can choose to have the driver maintain an index and choose whether or not the index is unique.
