For Amazon Redshift, the driver must connect to the leader node. Currently, Amazon Redshift only supports the notion of a single leader node. However, you can take advantage of the driver's advanced failover capabilities by setting the Alternate Servers connection option to the same host name or port number specified for the primary server in the Host Name and Port Number connection options.
