Install Authenticator App to Your Mobile Device
To verify your identity using your smartphone or mobile device, you need an authenticator app on that device.
Ensure Time Synchronization Between Devices
To prevent authentication issues, verify that both your computer and the mobile device running the authenticator app are synchronized in time. This includes confirming that each device is set to the correct time zone and that Daylight Saving Time (DST) is properly accounted for. For instance, a device set to Eastern European Summer Time (EEST) and a computer set to Pacific Standard Time (PST) can still function correctly as long as each clock is accurate within its respective time zone. Any mismatch in time settings may lead to failed authentication attempts.
Supported Authenticator Apps
WS_FTP Server works with authenticator apps such as Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator, which are available from most app stores including iTunes and Google Play.
After you install and open your authenticator, you must Scan the QR Code. The QR code is generated when a user sets up multi-factor authentication in WS_FTP Server.
